Our Mission
To teach students responsible pet ownership and instill values of empathy, compassion, and responsibility.
Originally developed as a Leadership Bakersfield community project, PAWS Education became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2023, focused solely on animal welfare education.
By empowering students through a comprehensive SEL curriculum that teaches responsible pet ownership and imparts core values, we aim to cultivate a cultural shift in our community’s commitment to animal welfare. Our overarching goal is to diminish neglect, reduce pet overpopulation, and create more compassionate and responsible community in Kern County.
As an all-volunteer organization, we depend on the generosity of our community and animal advocates to provide program services at no cost to schools.
